Am I not human?
Do I not deserve equality?
Was I not created the same as white?
There is not a day that goes by
In which the majority group
Looks down upon us with superiority
Based on our color we are inferior
According to those who fear difference
Since the day I was born I have endured misery
But I am not alone in this struggle
I have my brothers and sisters
Who accompany every day that goes by
Since the day of our birth
There stands a wall
That divides the human race
Yet we dream
We demand
And pursue
Not only our right
But our happiness as well
Together we sit
In diners in which we are unwanted
Together we march
In streets where we are unwanted
Everywhere we go
We are provoked
Whether in my head coffee is poured
Or being sprayed with a hose
Everyone laughs because I do nothing
When instead I am
I challenege the law
In a nonviolent protest we stand
Never will we be silenced
