I looked in the mirror and said, “Paint me Picasso”
With the swish of tips from the brown brush
I said, “Paint me Picasso”
Capture this vain image of beauty
While I’m Lost in my thoughts, drowned in my uncertainty
Like Mona Lisa’s dazed eyes, hoping for an artist to rescue me
OH am I conformed traitor?
How did I forget this flesh-based canvas is already a gift
I was already painted by the ultimate creator
And No, I don’t need man’s hands to MAKE UP Me
No, I don’t need man’s hand to Make up
And Shape-up who I should be
Clever sketchers never could trace me
See I was formed and knit in my mother’s womb
Only he who know me before the foundation of the Earth
Could make or break me
This scary glare from the broken mirror in which I stood in front of
Was trapped in insecurity looking for love
That’s why I searched for an outsider to invade my space and paint my image
Somehow, the picture wasn’t vivid
The darkness seeped in and the brokenness from the shadow
Caused me to see the light
At first I saw glare until the skies burst open and said DO not fear
God made himself known to me and it was clear
To those who are his, he draws near
So, you see, I don’t need to painted on man’s basis
God said, “Let us make man in our image,” in Genesis, What a revelation!
