His souls as dark as night
But he shines as bright as day
There's nothing he'll do
That wouldn't take my breath away
An instant image
My stomach will start to flutter
An instant thought
My mind will start to wonder
If this is just a game of pain
Wondering what he wants
Curious to what he'll gain
If he wants me for me
Or if its all just a trick
But for some reason
The thought makes me sick
As if its an impossibility
Like he couldn't do that kind of work
As I think about holding him
And gripping his shirt
As we make our plans
For the spring break season
And again I start to wonder
What is his reason
He says he wants me
He says he cares
He says he loves me
Like he'll always be there
And in truth he has
But I'm afraid for us both
Because of my past
I don't wanna push him away
Like I always end up doing
But he's so far away
Since the time of his moving
I'm just so confused
Why me out of all people
Then he says I'm amazing
Maybe I should peer through his peep hole
What he may see
Might not be within my sight
But I told him that I'd try
I told him that I might
I may not understand
It may not make sense
But just thinking about his touch
Well it leaves me in suspense
I've got a little more time to wait
For the time slowly flies by
But I'm going to take his bait
And I'm not gonna ask why
No second thoughts
No feelings of doubt
I'm not gonna care
Or end up chickening out
Not like last time
Or with the last man in line
I'm gonna give him my all
And then maybe I'll shine
