Prelude to The Pattern

Once upon a time
Somewhere in my mind
I found the strength to take control of me

I looked into the mirror
And peered into the core
It all seemed so much clearer
Not clouded like before

I took the time to find a reason
I took the time see
I noticed every changing season
I took the time to be

I felt the sand between my toes
I felt the sun shine on my face
I felt the snow between my toes
I felt the raindrops hit my face

I saw hidden the rythem
The pattern you did not
I watched the future being written
The past is what you bought

And when the vision faded
The mirror still remained
The face it seemed so jaded
And so I took the reins

The meaning of existence
Is not about the reason
But rather how we choose to make it real

And when the day is over
Ask yourself the question
Do I really know how to feel?
