Procrastination

Dear Teacher,

I always try to do my homework well

I organize, plan, and even set goals

But away from work Netflix does compel

It consumes my mind; it consumes my soul

Despair wrings out previous happy thoughts

Beads of cold sweat collect upon my brow

In between panic and fear I am caught

Due dates are rapidly approaching now

If you’re lucky, motivation will hit

Hours, maybe even minutes before

It is a wonder I do not commit

I cannot continue on anymore

Finally, it’s over. Relax, unwind

Until further homework has been assigned

Sincerely,

Emily Chan
