Red

By time, my brother
You had yet gone
Down a dangerous gravel path
It hadn’t been too long
For your brother
Would still be able to laugh

Confused, but guilty

Every day I sat

Not knowing I was wrong

Scripture not looked at

Never spoke a word

Red tears that were not strong

I’ve heard and I’ve told

He took over her head
It took time before I’ve smiled
Everything’s been red
Uncomfortably fine

Set before her many trials

Red tears came down

A sister’s love
Was the only one who could
She pulled above
You’re the one that people said
Only a mother could

Kept me okay

And held my hand

While he just tried to take

Nobody realized I couldn’t stand

I fell upon my knees

Turn to the only one that could create.

He recreated me.
