Redamancy

Location

           Years upon years.

           Our eyes filled with tears.

Knowing that we had gone our separate ways.

For this was not the first time, but it was our last.

At least this was what we were to believe.

I remember the night metanoia  surged through my body like a massive stroke.

Craving you, and only you.

My stomach was enticed in knots, not like those of a shoe, or bow.

But like some sophisticated knot produced by some boy scout on a summers retreat.

I had forgotten your warmth in the midst of winter, body to body without a care in the world.

And the way your eyes illuminated in the dark of night.

Or the way we could talk hours upon hours, about most anything.

I needed you. Not only then, but now.

I remember the night our paths crossed again.

Steady unsure nerves pumped through our veins

Most of that night was cloudy to me.

Except the proclamation you had ever so quietly said.

“ I love you. Now.  And forever. “

I can tell you that when one loves another and that feeling is reciprocated,

Almost anyone one can see it with a naked eye.

Redamancy.

That’s what this is.

And I never want it to fade.
