Redeeming Truth

I feel it. A sense of independence.
I feel it. A sense of strength.
I feel it. I no longer need the acceptance of others who betray me.
I feel it. I am no longer weak.
I feel it. The wind pressed against my neck.
I feel it. The rain cutting through my feet.
I feel it. The urge to say I am more than This, not more than You, and you Should be too

I feel the anger inside me rise
As it bubbles to the surface, the volcano is still placid
What will it take to erupt?

I feel the river within me burst into ripples. It has found its way but now must find its sea.

I feel my heart pounding against my chest, the cave that has locked it in place
It screams, let me see the light
Because it is time for the light to see me
It says:
I want to be known and heard
I want to see others like me
If what the light has said is true,
Then there is one of me in each of you.
