Rue

She missed her cue.

At that moment she knew,

That she would be gone.

Before dawn.

What was she going to do?

Could she sue?

She saw a fawn

As she let out a yawn.

Soon she made stew

And watched coffee brew.

She dreamed of a swan.

So it went on.

She needs you

At two.

That stupid cue

Was just new.

It wasn’t like a crayon.

Was is because she’s brown?

Was is because she’s named Rue?

Or because she loved Blue?

She felt like Krypton.

Forgotten. Gone.

She always drew.

Until one day she flew.

She had one coupon

That was found upon

A pawn.

She thought like a screw

That didn’t have a shoe.

Her smile was drawn

Everything was wrong.

She went to the zoo

Like it was true.

She needed someone to lean on.

She wouldn’t be long.

If only she got that cue

She wouldn’t be so blue.

She was redrawn.

She was foregone.

What could she do?

Moo?

Would she do a Marathon?

Could she respawn?

Does she belong?

Where was Don?

And Han?

Where is the pecan?

She never won.

There once was a girl named Rue,

Who missed her cue.
