A Runners Race

The first time you run a race

Life’s problems you’ll escape

In top physical shape you should be

Or back of the pack you’ll see

Give your all to be the best

Don’t give into the fire from your chest

For the win you’ll have to dig deep

Without heart you’ll accept defeat

Strategy is embedded in each lap

With experience will be less mishaps

Pushing and shoveling will soon be

Fighting back will be up to me

The finish line is in sight

With a win your body you’ll fight

In the last few steps you’ll win

A champion in the end
