Say Goodbye

Growing up is not a thrill

There are feelings you must hide

There are truths you must face

There is disappointment you must deal with

You learn the world is not as rosy as you thought

Santa isn’t real, the Easter Bunny is a myth

But what hurts the mostIs when your ignorance is destroyed

Sweet bliss is swamped by blackness

And the pit in your stomach grows.

What you have known to be true is no longer

A thought known by everyone

The secrets people hide can scar,

The hidden meanings behind their actions

Not everyone is pure

Not everything is what it seems

Childhood is a distant memory

Of times of purity and happiness

When the darkness was at bay

Say goodbye to old times

Say goodbye to your world.
