Selfishness

Philippians 2:3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Selfishness

To live for self is a sin ... maybe the greatest sin of all.

Selfishness is the foundation of greed, pride, and lust.

The depth of the soul ... bathes itself in love

for self, mine and ours ... and even in self-trust.

To seek the Holy Spirit ... just to please oneself

and seek the Holy Spirit to have power for your own

is the greatest fall ... into religious desolation

that seems all around ... as it sets the devil’s tone.

Just to consider happiness and feelings

in your so-called service to our Lord

is for the satisfaction ... of your soul’s desire

and just works of flesh ... as self is adored.
