Serenity

Serenity

 Luke 23:44-46

44 It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land

until three in the afternoon, 45 because the sun’s light failed.

The temple curtain was torn in two. 46 Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice,

said, “Father, into Your hands I commit My Spirit!”

And after He said this He breathed His last.

A candle flickering in the wind

But it can’t be diminished?

The Author of the wind

Is the One Who holds that candle

Sometimes it spreads a little light

And at times it seems to be dying

Until it runs back to the source

Who will all trouble handle

Who lighted the candle anyway

When it entered the Holy Place?

Who explained the purpose

Of the Warmth and Light of Love?

Was it not the High Priest

The Savior for the human race

Who gave Himself unselfishly

To introduce the Father from above?

Will “my” candle ever burn out

When it pierces through the darkness?

Will the dancing shadows on the wall

Be able to conquer me?

“I will never leave or forsake you”

The High Priest whispers dearly

My light will always be with you

For you are free indeed

The Holy Place is moved

It strengthens me for the outer court

Amazing to have access

Through what Christ has done

The Only Way to go

To the Holy of Holies

Where my Christ Face to face

Shows me what’s going on

Relationship One on one

As Spirit embraces spirit

Lifted out of nothingness

Into the fullness of Life

The Father and the Son

Smiling and reaching

Living complete loveliness

Removing all inner-strife
