Ranges in color, regionally, adapting to survive.
White, black, brown, all fulfilling purpose.
Used in the past to define status socially.
Today in politics, used and abused to gain power.
Gives protection to vital organs, not quite the emphasis,
But it's importance is stabilizing internal temperature, that's homeostasis.
Use ink to decorate in innumerable fashion.
Girls tend to show more with each passing year.
The sun bakes it brown with time exposed.
When red it can lead to a cancerous disposition.
Sometimes as cold as winter, Sometimes like a warm thermos.
This versatile organ we call "epidermis."
