So You Look

You look at me and see that I am free
No longer polluted by your chaos and disease-
In remaining pure I feel secure
These eyes that speak a million truths
The suffering revealed is the final proof
There is no denying humanity is crying
Sliding into self destruction
A Spiritual combustion

Take heed how we are in need
Of something different something new
The hatred is red black and blue
Open wide the heart inside
See how things have gone awry
Hear the children dying as they lay crying
Take a deep breath and take the next step

Stop the complaining
And stop the whining
Make the change needed
And help those who are mistreated
Pick up the pieces and the broken bones
It’s time we all were headed back peacefully home.
“Thy Kingdom Come Thy Will be Done on earth, in the lands, the dying seas, the incurable disease, the melting caps, the heating sun, the raping earth, as it is in the Heavens.” Amen!

I think the last stanza of this poem is the most powerful, because you tell the reader that the only way to create change for the better is to take the first step, otherwise the world will continue to be exactly as it is.
