Society Rules

Right and wrong, black and white;
elude the shadows of the night.
Never leave and never here,
what else is there for you to fear?
Whispers carried in the wind,
truths that never yield nor bend.
Lightening rips the sky in two,
raging with a force a new.
Further do I follow still,
without consent of my own will.
Whispered sighs and husky moans,
mask the rattling of bones.
The meek must cower, flee, and hide;
for the rage is washing in like tides.
The hollow "peace" in which we reign,
allows for torture without blame.
Lines of reason all but blurred,
blood and tears go undetered.
Who will follow, who will stand?
who will fight time's ceaseless sand?
