Soul Ties

There's a piece of my heart that still holds on to you.

The piece that equates neglect with value;

Abandonment with level of servitude.

The fairytale I never got to see come true.

There's a piece of me that feels embalmed with you, toxic yet filling.

Heart fluttering memories spaced miles apart with feelings that feel up close and personal.

Young love in its purest form, like shots of adrenaline.

I thought that was peace.

I thought we were meant to be.

And even though the shoe fit;

And there was no dissipation of magic at midnight;

The failure of flesh won.

But, I forgive you.

Love always, a dreamer.
