Speaking Out

Frustrated thoughts mingle in the air amidst the gaggle of anxiety

No one brave enough to speak up

Not even for the sake of their own enlightment

Shame

She is new but that is no excuse

Some of us bet everything on a grade, on knowledge

How are we expected to proceed?

Ignorance is no excuse for depriving us of understanding

Her flaws must be exposed

Would she even listen?

She is too new and full of pride

Is there hope at all for our classroom of no longer eager students?

Once bright and hopeful, we are now broken

It's criminal for one person to have such influence

Our futures, our confidence, our grades at stake

Darkness finally envelopes light

We stop hoping for success, give up

Our voices fall silent only to encourage her ways

Yet we are too weak to offer complaint

No longer strong enough to seek the knowledge we first wanted

Thanks to her

How do we learn?
