Struggle

Her pathway was blocked
But her heart had paid the price...
Her soul would speak of blue skies!
But she thought happiness was a disease.
Her mind tortured the grass as it grew
She never knew the taste of sweet sugar
And as the lights grow dim,
So will her senses...
She pressed on with a fluttering heart
Like butterfly wings her emotions pattered around.
Her pathway was blocked
But her eyes had paid the price
Stained dark and insecure...
Her soul would speak of wild horses!
But her mind turned on itself.
She thought that misery was served on a silver platter
And as the wind turns cold,
So will her love...
She continued with wandering thoughts
Like starfish in the ocean her feelings were scattered.
Her pathway was blocked
But her tongue had paid the price.
She spoke with dripping honey,
Though she never knew the taste of it...
Her soul would speak of fine white sand!
But her mind ate nails and wire
And as time grows old,
So will her memory...
She walked forward with a breaking stride
Like a newborn calf her footsteps wavered.
Her pathway was blocked
But her soul had hope!
