Sudden days and whispered breathe,

Sudden days and whispered breathe,

realizing where I stand is coming to rest.

I try to remain alive, afloat

yet again I fall, I flip the boat.

But now, standing on a pier I know so well,

I begin to recognize where the tears began to swell.

In a place so simple, moving so slow

It all makes sense once again, I now know

where all the fear comes from, hiding beneath,

I can watch as leaves me, at last I can breathe.

As life grows harder, and I struggle and strive

I know of a place where I feel truely alive.

From sunrise to sunset, it's simple as this,

within my happy place, is where my heart is.

No pain can get me, my demons disappear

while standing at the lake, looking over the pier.

The one with my name, carved on the rails,

the one made better with age, and the old tattered sail.

When life gets hard, you know where to find me.
