Tarter

A yellow sound scrapes in the distance

Frozen gesture of a perpetual instance

The spiles weep with candid delight

To the consternation of even callous of sight

Across the dale and toward the horizon

As far as man can focus eyes on

Supplies a sullied sour maid

Who scrubs and scours

At the messes we’ve made.
