Thanks For Nothing

Dear "Dad"

Thank you for not being there when I needed you

Thank you for missing all the important steps in my life

For being the reason I always feel so blue

For making my heart feel like its being stabbed with a knife

Thank you for showing me your true colors

Thank you for showing me how little you care

For making my world a little duller

And for making me realize life is not fair

But don't get a big head

You'll never end up on top

Though you've torn my heart to shreds

You'll never make me drop

I've become independent

Steadfast and mature

Though you lack in attendant

My heart no longer searches for a cure

So I thank you again for all you haven't done

From a heart of gold that has rusted some

To yours that I fear is still on the run

Awaiting the day you decide to become a father and not a bum

Yours sincerely,

Kourtney Henry
