they call it stage presence

when you take that first step

out of the black wings into the light

you can't see them, but you know they can see you

and it's terrifying, heartbreaking, nervewracking

and the most beautiful experience of your life

that's what i feel

that's my stage presence

on stage i am at home

and if i could be on the stage

for the rest of my life

to wake up every day

and have to go to work

in those black wings

on that bright open stage

to look out at the shadowed faces of spectators

to captivate them, motivate them, touch them

i would never have to sleep to dream again

because my life

would be my dream.
