Two Different Worlds

America

Ten year old girl

Blonde hair

Blue eyes

Afghanistan

Ten year old girl

Brown hair

Blue eyes

America

She walks down the aisle

Head down

Afghanistan

She walks down the aisle

Head down

Hands sweating

America

Head down

Until she hears her name called

She looks up

Afghanistan

Head down

Hands sweating

Until she hears her name called

She looks up

America

She looks up

She sees the friendly green eyes of her best friend

She runs off the bus to greet her

Afghanistan

She looks up

She sees the old worn out bloodshot eyes of the man

The man she will spend the rest of her life with

As she looks into those old eyes

She realises this is the end of her childhood

The end of her life

Until death will they part

America

She walks to class with her best friend

She looks back at the bus

The aisle she just walked down

The aisle that leads her into a brand new school year

The beginning of the rest of her life
