A Very Merry Christmas

Christmas Day is nearly here,

with friends and family very near.

All the children are heavenly and sweet

and are always searching for cookies to eat.

The temperature outside is dropping,

and inside, buttered corn is popping!

The gifts are all wrapped in boxes and

bags, and are all adorned with holiday tags.

The children have faces of happiness and delight,

just waiting for Santa on Christmas Eve night.

Family and friends huddled close around the fire

with levels of excitement rising higher and higher.

Everyone is waiting for the big day when

Santa will come with his reindeer and sleigh.

Cookies, candy, and chocolate galore

keep both kids and adults begging for more.

The young children’s faces are full of joy

each time they unwrap a brand new toy.

As the end of Christmas Day draws near,

the kids start looking forward to Christmas next year!
