The Voices in My Head

Wed, 03/08/2017 - 15:02 -- miaw078

Voices ring in my ears.

"Die now."

I try to wipe them away along with my tears.

"You already know how."

I watch the knife roll around in my hand.

"Just use it."

There is so much I go through that I can't stand.

"Rescue yourself from this deep pit."

A lady walks my way.

"Don't let her distract you."

She tells me not today.

"She can get a few stabs, too"

Her fingers grab the end of the tool.

"You don't have to let go."

The lady warns me to stay cool.

"People will learn from this sacrifice you will show."

My strength increases.

"That's the spirit."

I fight her off like wildebeests.

"Just one slash and it will only take a minute."

I snatch my hand from the woman.

"On the neck or the wrist,"

Death finally comes to summon.

"Your presence will be missed."
