Just because it’s in the hood doesn’t mean we can’t reach the mountaintop

Every student in this school is a voice that wants to be heard

Washington Prep is their chance to proof the doubts of people

Who told them they weren’t cut out for the good life

We may have different colors on our skins

But it does not mean that we don’t have the same hunger for knowledge

Washington Prep students are here to fight

We are here to fight for our future, for our dream, and for our pride

Just like Martin Luther King Jr. who helped the people of color follow their dreams

They reached the mountaintop of glory and hope

All the students of Washington Prep are like flowers

There are many various of flowers

They come in different shapes, sizes, and colors

And Washington Prep is their garden

That helps the flowers bloom and light up the world
