Water weight

Like the beach, emotions wash over me
When I think of the erosion that wastes me.
Like how you cross my mind
The water washes over me again and again
I think of the what "ifs" and I can't bear the water anymore
it breaks me down to small sand

The water gets rough and I must try to stand my ground
however, soon as I think of the future
I can see the dark depths of the ocean

I don't wish to leave my happily lonely island
But I know that eventually
when I am removed from the sunny beach
I can only hope to find the beach once more

I can only hope that she will love me
I can only hope that she will welcome me
I can only hope to somehow find my sunny beach once again
