we are a Greek tragedy

Like a Greek tragedy

You broke

Everything falling apart

Like Odysseus

You think your through

And yet your journey continues

Like Atlas

You feel the world on your shoulders

Sure you’re going to break

And yet you keep standing

Like Oedipus

Causing disaster

And ruin

Following a fate already foretold

Like Achilles

Blind to your shortcomings

Arrogant and chilling

Like Heracles

You mind will shatter

And the pieces will be lost

You will go mad

Like Bellerophon

You will slay monsters

But there will always be more

Like Greek heroes

You are flawed

Like a tragedy

You will lose everything

And like a hero

You are chosen for a path

And all you can do is watch

As others make your choices

Heroes are never happy.

Heroes are broken

And angry.

They are sad and lost.

So when you said you wanted

To be a hero

When you said you wanted

To save people

When you said you wanted

To slay the monsters

Are you prepared to lose everything

To realize in the end,

Your work was nothing.

That the only thing that mattered

Was how you failed.
