What Can We Do For Others?

I have a dream that one day,

We would no longer turn away

From the fact that our nation

Is growing with frustration

I have a dream that one day,

We could display

A nation no longer be divided into two

And we are able to see through

The skepticism towards those in blue

I have a dream that one day,

We will learn to convey

That there isn’t a difference between black and white

We must stop this ludicrous gunfight

I have a dream that one day,

We are no longer running away

From those who are suppose to protect us

But we must regain back our trust

And not act with disgust

I have a dream that one day,

We will unite as one and not replay

This moment in time infused with negativity

We must rise and improve humanity

And support those risking their lives for their community

But also put an end to superfluous police brutality

No matter what the color of their skin is

Everyone deserves an equal opportunity

I have a dream that one day,

The darkness will be outshined

Hate will supressed by love

We can no longer stay silent

For issues that matter

Injustice here causes a threat everywhere

So we ask ourselves

What can we do for others?
