I just received a message stating to meet with the teacher,

To meet about my placement regarding next school year.

For once I was pleased to get a notice,

Especially since it was to discuss my arrangements for an AP class,

An Advanced Placement Class that I'd actually wanted to take.

My grades were great in that subject this year,

So the news should have been good.

‘Should have been good.’

‘Should’

But they weren’t.

In order to be in advanced placement for Science,

I had to get good grades in Math and English.

My Math grades were probably my second or maybe third best subject,

But….English?

They had to choose English.

I was told from my Science teacher,

That the Science Department unanimously agreed,

To say no to my request.

All because my English grades were down,

Because they were horrible.

It’s already the fourth quarter,

And I doubt that I’ll be able to get 100% on every test

And quiz.

And project.

And any homework assignment.

However

I just received a test back,

And I was very, very surprised with my grade on that test.

It was so shocking,

It was the best I had ever done this entire year!

Best I had done in English, ever!

I had gotten 100%!

So maybe this was my chance?

This might be my once in a life time chance to get my grades up,

And just maybe it'll be enough for them to reconsider?

I even intend on participating in a writing camp this summer,

All so I can improve my English.

This time I won’t be so lazy.

And I’ll try harder.

I will achieve my goals.

And for now my main goal is to be in advanced placement,

In that AP Science class.
