When you Discover your Inner Lotus

The way we see the lotus fails us.

Quite deceitful isn't it?

how the aromatic petals exist upon the foundation of a muddy underside.

Quite transformative isn't it?

how the eloquent blossom sways on the water's surface yet muddy roots are hidden underneath.

Quite scary, isn't it?

how the mud is essential to the life of the lotus.

If only we knew the way the lotus worships its mud.

What if there was no mud?

the lotus would cease to exist.

What if there was no mud?

the roots of the lotus would not be enriched with the wisdom that people seek.

What if there was no mud?

the lotus would not carry strength to the surface of the water.

For the entirety of our lives, we push our own mud away.

Why?

because we are taught that any pain to our journey is a step backward instead of a step forward.

Why?

because we fail to see the importance of suffering.

Why?

because we can only become the lotus if we carry strength and wisdom to give to the world around us.

When you see that the beauty lies in the mud, the lotus has taught you well.

What did it teach me?

it taught me that by unveiling the mud, I discovered my inner self.

What does it teach me?

It teaches me that when I accept the mud, it will accept me.

What will it teach me?

It will teach me that the mud is a reflection of the petals that will come to be.

We grow to become the lotus,

but we are truly grown when we realize how it comes to be.
