Where I'm From

I'm from a place where parents grow young, yet their children grow old
Where peoples pillows are soft, yet their heart is so cold.
Where gunshots become music
and small fights turn into war
Where parents are forced to see their child motionless in a casket;
pale and sore.

I'm from a world where children thinks it's fine to smoke and do drugs
Where there's more hatred and thought of revenge, than love.
A place where both young children dress to impress
Where girls get pregnant at a young age, and their babys father is locked up in cage

I'm from a world where everyone wonders what had gone wrong
Yet no one tries to help.
It's a place where young children cries themselves to sleep and shouts for help
Yet no one hears them
I'm from a nightmare that only occurs when you're awake
Hoping it'll end soon
I'm from a world where promises get broken and sorry means nothing
This is where I'm from
