White Walls

Location

Left, Right, Front, Behind,

I am being engulfed by these white walls

I look to my hands and ankles to check for shackles and chains,

they must be invisible to the student eye..

yet we feel their weight dragging our souls further down each day.

Note to principal the heat does have a on button..

in case your wondering its currently set on off.

At this school the current style is Eskimo.

Yes Mrs. Teacher lady i know its illegal to have a sip of water.

Dehydration is always a positive occurrence.

Freedom: what our country is based on, I would Voice my thoughts..

But what does my Opinion matter? I am just a student, a inmate..

of these dreaded white walls.

School as a prison. Overused, yet it can be relevant if a spin's put on it, which I didn't see much of here. Dont understand the heat switch metaphor- oh, nevermind, creativity, inspiration, etc. "Style is eskimoe" line is unecessary (former line), "america founded on freedom" call is way too overused, better to leave out unless the poem adresses it directly or differently. Maybe adress reasons why heat switch is set to off to give more substance to the poem, anything particular the school does that kills creativity (cause the poem makes it seem like its their fault). Joke's on the teacher though, dehydration is the fastest way to get students to fall asleep in class.
