Wife of Bath

Wife of Bath

Her ways are that of seductive soul, her eyes tour lands to and fro

She feasts upon the men she sees, and lurks in the valleys below

She is woman every other woman fears, her beauty is such they quiver

She devours her prey in moments, not even for a piece of silver

Dusk brings out her sensual self, she lies in the pub on the corner

Sinking her teeth in her victim she plans before her

He is a man indeed, his wealth is like a shining ring before her

His smells, His, tells, his uniform are all adorned by her

Her eyes gaze upon the ground he stands, a plan is her devise

He neither sees nor senses what she plans, her intension are full of lies

He is a man with power, the land he owns brings wealth

Sheep and cattle and farmland, his stature is quite stealth

Love is but for fools, a genuine heart is rare

The woman searches for riches in her soul which is certainly bare

Strange to the land this man comes, a soul knows not him at all

Where has he come from, why is he here?  Did he hear her call?

Her beauty lures, they sense her afar, his mission is set in stone

She seeks his flesh, she devours with her eyes down to his bones

A mist the room of the tavern walls, he sees her glowing smile

Like a lion preying on its dinner, she stares at him for awhile

Sheik is he, wealth encompasses his body, mind and soul

The lion she is moves in for the kill, sinking her teeth into her foul

He has fallen for her ways of love and lie,

She owns his soul now, upon her he relies

Her past is full of demons, her flesh has been plagued indeed

But how will she tell him the truth, for herself to be freed?

She has led a life of selfish desires full of lust and sin

Her ways have earned her punishment of flesh and skin within

Time is short, her days are numbered as so her punishment stands

She must tell him, knowing he may leave to other lands

Pain strikes his heart like spear the soul, his mind goes to and fro

He knows he must come to peace deep within his soul

Deep into her eyes he wanders, he searches her within

He hits her with a secret of his, his darkest and deepest sin

Plagued by the disease his lover has, he shares her sin inside

He left his land to run away and find a place to abide

He confides to her and bares all he has, the loss of his health and riches

He is not the man she though he was, he barely owned his britches

He lost it all, not a penny to his name, she chased a man whose empty

Disease has plagued their flesh and soul, sin left their souls angry…
