Poems from Darlene Gray
Its a dark dream
huanting my day
staying by my side by night
i still hope for that light
the one i saw when i saw love
when i saw hope ...
a willow leaf
escaping
no
traped
around
surround
bars
voices echoing
thunder
she's claustrophobic
her heart beats
a shudder
a burst...
trickling of water
slow then sputter
splashes
boots in rain
a yellow coat
a smiling face
a grimace
a memory gone wrong
lights ahead...
Walking down the street
in my hightops and skinny jeans
there they whistle
mocking me
just becuase of my visible sexuality
they seam not...
She breaths
she breaks
swelling throught
tears down face
she breaks
the crowd
consumes
cries she makes
it's a whisper
the wounds that bear...
