Alone

Caged and helpless Desperate and Alone Confused and senseless Wishing to go home In a dark room All filled with the wild Everything filled with gloom Scared like a child Hears the sounds of home The roar of the lion, squawk of birds All of them alone All of them wishing for the herds The poachers came To take them all away To never see home again If only they hadn’t gone astray Just an animal taken away From his free and untamed home To be slaughtered for pay To be forever alone.
