Alone In the Light

Alone in the light.

I sit at my desk.

Not a soul bothers to ask how my day is.

Not a soul stops to look at me.

My teacher looks the other way,

She doesn't know what to do or how to handle it.

She stays silent.

I am alone.

I have fallen and refuse to get up.

I see the light.

There is so much more to my soul

than to what others have overlooked.

I am alone in the light.
