Apology
I don't accept your apology.
I appreciate it.
I appreciate that you tried,
I appreciate that you managed words.
But I don't accept your halfhearted,
Disingenuous,
"I'm sorry but it's true"
apology.
I thought you were better than they.
I thought for a split second,
you weren't just like everybody else
who gave a halfhearted,
disingenuous,
"I'm sorry,
I was having a bad day"
apology.
I expected more.
But you didn't want to give more, so
I can't accept your apology.
I appreciate it.
I appreciate that you felt some sort of guilt.
But that is not an apology,
and I refuse to accept your halfhearted,
disingenuous,
"I'm sorry but you asked for it"
apology.
Because "sorry"
isn't a band-aid.
"Sorry"
Isn't an adhesive.
So I do not accept your apology.
I cannot accept your apology.
I will not accept your apology.
And for that
I won't apologize,
unless you want some halfhearted,
disingenuous,
"I'm sorry but--"
apology
