To Bailey

All along there has been beauty A beauty that you’ve never seen Slowly living day by day As you watch your life wasting away Your eyes, they see the worst The hatred, ignorance and lack of love I wonder how it is you cannot see The beauty that I see in front of me Your smile and kindest of eyes Bring joy to the world and erase all despise Your family, your friends They’ll love you to their very end You don’t have to go! Bailey… why did you go? Why did you go and hang that noose? To let all your self-loathing loose? All your potential, all your dreams Washed away because of those fiends! You didn’t even make it to 18 Your parent’s lives, an unbearable routine It didn’t have to be this way… It shouldn’t have been this way … You just had to open your eyes To wake up from the nightmare you were living But now you are completely gone And those beautiful eyes won’t open again … I wonder how it is you couldn’t see The beauty that I saw in front of me
