Beauty

Everything is beautiful.

That’s what I learned

When my world was ugly.

When they trapped me

In my own shadows.

In that dark place,

I would look through the thick haze

And notice how beautiful things can be

When you had nothing else to see.

When I escaped that dark place

And ran from the ugly

It left me stripped of the shadows.

So I draped myself in sunshine.
