Born in the middle of the night
His coat soft as silk
Scrutinizing the world around him
He begins to learn the way of a horse
Ready to grow big and strong

The most volatile one in the barn
His heart lies on the open track
Feeling the dirt fly behind him,
the cool morning air running through his mane
His ears pricked forward, waiting for an opponent.

The day has come, all eyes on him.
He breaks from the gate with speed, strength, and surging power.
Now it's just the roar of the crowd
An the open stretch ahead of him.
