Boxes

Those donation boxes

for the local animal shelter,

school supplies,

coats for the winter,

clothes for the homeless,

would be filled to the brim.

Overflowing with fabric, food, pencils, cans,

folders, paper, blankets, zippers.

All the boxes would be full to help the many.

dogs could eat,

kids could write,

a walk in the snow would become enjoyable,

a change of clothes to feel clean.

Anything to bring happiness,

joy,

hope.

The feeling that someone cares.

And that someone should be everyone.
