Breathing For The First Time

I take in a breath

I breath out

This is new

I am human now

Oxygen finally soothes my fears

Never before has it felt so good

to breathe away my fears

A new life

without worries or concerns

How dare I try to let this go?

How could I have been this selfish?

Why would want to leave this place of beauty?

Oh wait...

The others

They disappeared from the light of day as I cocooned myself

in the safety of adults

the shelter of authority

in the protection of secrecy

Understanding the code of emotions

will always be out of each

grasping, feeling, wanting

To understand

Simple humanity

But it’s not always so simple

A lesson that is hard to learn

Let alone teach

How did we (Human Beings)

Learn this lesson?

Observation?

Or the hard way?

How precious a human life can be

And how hard it can be

to go through the motions

And get through the situation

But you will see a better

day

Dream on little girl

Keep wishing on that Magic Star

You will see a better day

my princess

Get through today

One step at a time

Take it day by day

hour by hour

minute by minute

Because

Honey,

You will get through this

You will see your life bloom

Like a field of roses

Hold on

Don’t let your hands slip

You can swing your way to the other side

Life is just a pair of monkey bars

Life will be a struggle

You will need strength

And you will get it

Because you are strong

You have faith

You have me

You have your life

Don’t waste away

Don’t be cruel

Be grateful

Be happy

Be kind

Because you only get

One Chance

And this is it

Don’t jump off that cliff

Don’t take that blade

Don’t lose faith in Life

It can’t hold you

up

But I will

I’ll hold the weight of the world

On my shoulders

For you

I’ve done it before

Why not now?

My shoulders are

stronger

healed

Don’t worry about

the bricks on your chest

they will crumble

away

Somebody will lift them off of you

Somebody will save you.

It is then that

you will know

that they

love you.
