The Damned Generation

little Abby at school all day always aiming for that perfect A she looks happy but you don’t know what’s inside she comes home every single night to a single mom that drinks her worries away tonight it's a beating or maybe two Abby looks to the sky and prays to god that she'll make it through with another kick and a final cry all the kids at school won’t get to say goodbye little Tina waves her pom-poms high screaming her cheers and smiling bright you'll never see her cry but you don’t know what's inside she works two jobs just to get by paying her own bills she makes every penny count cause if she doesn’t then she'll be kicked out working the streets till half past four being told by everyone that she's a whore she's so scared she can barely speak but she'll fake the smile so she won’t seem weak pink slip in the mail her job is done she hits the streets at quarter to one but half-way there she has to run back she'll be called a slut and that's a fact she'd rather end it than have one label more next day, little Annie comes by to call her an ugly whore church bells ring and a procession of black because everyone knows that Tina’s not coming back little Tommy is the model son "he's the sweetest guy" says everyone he can light up the room with his perfect smile and if you ask for an inch, he'll give you the mile but you don't know what's inside thrown into lockers and called a fag he reaches down into his bag to take the knife that no one sees no body's there to answer his pleas he prays to God to end his pain but everyday proves to be the same another name called another shove in the halls he's always tried to have a good soul but every word said is like getting hit with a pole he'll go home tonight and cut too deep one more funeral at the end of the week what have we done to these kids? what have we done to these kids! every day of their lives they stay up all night to cry spread a little love and i have no doubt that bullying and pain could soon be out sticks and stones may break your bones but it's the words that'll kill you
