Didn't See That

When the boy held my head down

in a pool of water

They didn't see that

When the girls told me

puff out your chest (they laughed)

They didn't see that

When they took my siblings

turned blood against blood

Who didn't see that?

When I finally lost hope

15 and too responsible to die

They didn't see that

When you took my hand and

gave me a place of safety, I grew

They're going to see that.
