Do You See Me?
Childish, chubby, and confused,
Sixth grade wasn’t my favorite.
Tossed around, picked on, bullied,
all for fun?
I just wanted to fit in,
So what the hell did I do wrong?
You all were supposed to be my friends,
Not the ones that left me with bruises;
Not the ones who threw my lunch on the ground;
All for what? a damn laugh?
But y’all didn’t stop,
No.
I pushed through the days that brought tears,
Striving to make sure you don’t influence me;
Striving to reach the day when I don’t have to ask,
“Do you see me?”
