Emotional Toxicity

It starts with one word, one word they mindlessly blurt

Which people ignore, their eyes avert

Freak, weirdo, worthless, these are the words they use

You need to stand up and refuse,

The words that they misuse and abuse

These words are not the truth,

They're toxic for any youth

Everyone knows but refuses to take action

They said be quiet, you're a terrible attraction

You're drawing too much attention

Why must I not speak out and use my voice?

One just wants to be relieved of their emotional tension

You're acting like my being bullied is a choice

Which is absolutely absurd

This is not what I would have preferred

You think I wanted this, that I asked for it?

Asked to be ridiculed and criticised for not being able to 'take a hit'

We often hurt each other,

That random sister or even our very own brother

Muslims are united and meant to take a stand,

I ask you to raise your hand

It matters as its certainly not ideal

We need to start telling people how we feel

Bullying should never be an option or the way

It is time for us to take action everyday
