Empty Locker
Today my locker is full of binders and books,
Hallway walks consist of much hate and hostile looks,
High school is a lethal war that's not meant for me to win,
On the way to 5th I walk solitary,
But acting strong does not take attention away, it brings it in,
Hearing every other word of what the stranger to my left says about me,
Whispers about my flaws that are not due to my responsibility,
Not one friend to tell my pointless problems to,
My life is as worthless as dirt is to you,
Taken back to every hit,
All those people felt no pain for the ill-mannered activities they had commit,
All the brutal remarks turn my head to the wrong direction,
Binders in my bag, books in my hand,
I clean my locker out,
My noxious thoughts cause me to stumble,
Familiar faces pass, but none help out,
Out of the crowd of people a neighbor takes my hand,
She distributes the books evenly and helps me stand,
She walks me home and my heart starts to mend,
I have one friend,
I cleaned out my locker so you wouldn't have to,
I love you mommy, I really do.
