Fire Fighters

Put down the gun Take a step off the ledge Come into my words; I’ll take off the edge Of living in a world So thoughtless and cold It makes one feel sad- Sad and very, very old To think of a child Weeping at night It tears at the heart Kill you; it might To think of a teen Exposed and frightened To taunts of cruel peers Who are so unenlightened Fight on, fire fighter Put out the flames that start On the tongue of a thoughtless fool And end on your poor heart And remember that those Who start the heat Are hurting as well It’s just harder to see.

I'm an artist. I'm a poet, I'm an actress, I like to draw with my toes in the dirt on the sidewalk, I like to people watch, I like to bird watch. I like to find beauty where it's not usually evident, I like to find excitement in the mundane. I like living. I like life.
